We came back here to celebrate our second wedding anniversary as we had loved it when we first came before our wedding. Unfortunately the quality of some of the food seems to have gone down. I can only comment on the chips (pictured) which were $14 a bowl but were hard or starchy and flavourless. If anything they tasted fishy, or like they had been fried somewhere fish was also fried. For such a restaurant I would expect better.
The service was excellent, in that they did bring us an alternative bowl of chips and they said that the first ones were house made and the second were frozen. The frozen ones were honestly so much better. I am a chip expert (I’ve had a lot) and was very disappointed.
The sirloin was delicious and cooked perfectly. Again, very good steak but for the price not sure if it’s worth it.

We ordered the seafood platter for two, and while some of the fresh seafood tasted great, the overall experience felt a bit inconsistent. The fried calamari in particular was bland and soggy, which really brought the platter down.

Ordered our food together. My friends came out 25 minutes before mine did. Ended up watching him eat, then he had to watch me eat. He had to ask twice for cutlery, before giving up and going to find his own. My food finally arrived and was disgusting - the Barramundi mushy and mostly dark. My salad was ordered without dressing, but was coated in sesame dressing and I didn't eat it. The meal certainly not worth $38 and I only ate the handful of chips it came with. No one meal checked us at all.
When we finally went to leave, a young man came to clear the table. I said it was disgusting and he said "go tell them over there", vaguely pointing at the bar? No one at the bar was interested in helping or assisting. Who were we supposed to complain to? What an experience. We ordered a Banquet for four so we could experiment a variety of flavours which did not disappoint. One of my children cant eat gluten and the staff were fantastic. One of the easiest places when it comes to dietary requirements. They are very flexible too your food requirements, be it allergy related or other, which makes it more seamless when dining out with groups. Lea was our waitress. Very attentive, friendly and efficient.

I honestly wouldn’t recommend Stanley, and here’s why.
We went as a party of 7 and chose the banquet menu, expecting it to be well-portioned and satisfying for a group. Unfortunately, the portions didn’t make sense for the size of the table. We actually left hungry, which is disappointing considering the price point.
The food itself was good, but nothing out of this world or memorable enough to justify the cost. For a banquet, I expected either more generous portions or dishes that truly stood out and it delivered neither.
The biggest plus is definitely the location. The view of the Story Bridge is absolutely stunning and the setting is beautiful. However, when it comes to value for money, the experience didn’t match the price.

Came for the yum cha banquet on a Sunday. Initially we were very impressed with the food as the three standard entrees arrived. Firstly the cold poached chicken was beautifully balanced with a soft silky texture, the ocean trout was so fresh and practically melted in your mouth and the cucumber and snow pea salad was a lovely palate cleanser- could not in any way fault those first three dishes. Unfortunately this is where we stopped being impressed - the duck and mushroom dumplings were dry and lacked flavour, the truffle dumplings had a great hit of truffle but the casing was thick and clumsy, the xiao long bao dumplings arrived broken meaning all the soup filling had leaked out prior to getting to the table, the prawn toast was overly oily and unpleasant resulting in most of it being left on the plate, the salt and pepper squid had a thick tasteless batter - although I will give credit as the squid itself was perfectly cooked, the lamb ribs had a great hit of cumin and weren’t too fatty and the prawn and chive rolls were nice. In the end, they waived the charge for the fruit platter (something we never asked for—we would have much preferred that they take the issue seriously, since it concerns food safety). I just extracted wisdom tooth several hours ago before the dinner, so I need congee. At the beginning staff told me only seafood congee will be served at dinner, but I cannot have seafood after tooth extraction. So they asked the chef to cook me beef congee that is not on the menu. I’m so surprised.
They also noticed my swelling face and asked if I need the ice pack, and offered me a hand-made ice pack (ice cube cover by cling warp). They brought me a proper ice pack when they found it and wish me can feel comfortable while eating. I’m surprised again because this is far way beyond my expectations towards certain restaurant services, especially an Asian restaurant.
I would say the dim sum and congee here, best in town！I strongly recommend fresh crab meat xiao long bao,cause I ordered two serves with eight pieces (four pieces in one serve). Really juicy and tasty, feel like I’m back to Shanghai again.

Came here last Tuesday for dinner. We were quite confused entering the place as no one was there to welcome us. This was quite disappointing, especially considering we had made a reservation and it was not a busy Tuesday night.
Our order included BBQ seafood, Marinara Linguine, and Lobster Mornay. The BBQ Seafood comprised Moreton bay bug, scallops, prawn, fish of the day and salad, but the portion size was quite small considering the price. The Marinara Linguine was cooked well, though the sauce was not memorable. The Lobster was the highlight of the night. Their drinks menu is also good.
I would definitely come back here for the lobster and drinks. However, our experience was dampened by the service. The waitress appeared unfamiliar with the menu, which was surprising for a high-end restaurant. Initially, she informed us that the lobster was live and she will inform us of the price when they weigh it. Alternatively, she mentioned a 'not live, but still quite fresh' option at a lower price. Her exact words were "not fresh but still fresh. You know what I mean". When we asked where it was on the menu, she kept saying that having no eyeglasses was not helping because she cannot read the menu very well and couldn't find it. Seriously? I have never experience this type of attitude in a restaurant. Perhaps she could have asked for assistance if she was unsure. Enjoyed dinner here had the hot & cold seafood platter. Worth every dollar. Seafood was fresh & full of flavour. The sauces to accompany were beautiful on clams, oysters and thousand island for the prawns.
The cooked seafood was done beautifully. Very hard to find a place that doesn’t over cook the seafood & they nailed it. Plenty of seafood to fill 2 people.
The service was great, the staff catered to every need. Very friendly and conversed politely. When our glasses were empty they would refill or offer to get us another beverage. They ensured they took our shell bowl when it was full and placed a clean empty one there. They had wet wipes to clean our hands in between.

A mixed review for us on this occasion. My wife and I visited for our Anniversary for dinner as I had always wanted to dine here. Entrees were delicious, but the mains were mixed in results. My wife's main meal was absolutely lovely, mine not so much. Linguini marinara, had flavour but many pieces of fish not even cooked, and a few scales on them as well. Very disappointing considering the price. When I advised the manager he simply said sorry about that sir and took the plate away! Had an awesome early Father’s Day dinner. Service was amazing and we felt well taken care of. It’s hard to find Lobster Thermidor in Brisbane and dad said they did it really well. It’s been a few years since I’ve been here so was keen to try it again. We had lunch for 6 people on Sunday. All of the food we had was 5 stars. Well presented, perfectly cooked and flavoursome, and was all served on time and 6 meals together. There is clearly a good chef and team in the kitchen here, well done. However, the service was a bit patchy at the start and we had to wait a while for someone to come and take our initial drinks order. Thankfully a young man who was working in the bar noticed us and came over, and thereafter we were largely looked after.
Atmosphere wise it’s lovely being on the deck near the water, but it’s not a good vibe walking past the inside restaurant which looks like it is a partially used function room nowadays.
I really wanted to give this review 5 stars based on the food alone and the helpful service of one individual, but for a restaurant in this price bracket things needed to be a bit more on point if I’m honest and compare it to other 5 star restaurants. Always exceeding in everything.
The view of the marina gives us that openness and healing atmosphere under any weather. The staff were very friendly and explained all in a professional manner.
Not to mention the food. This wasn't the first time we had visited this place, we have tried a few different menu. All including the desserts were superb.

As first-time guests at Tempest we found ourselves at a fantastic water-side venue, with the two of us being seated in the outdoor section of the restaurant immediately facing the marina.
The staff were delightful and highly professional, and we enjoyed a great selection fresh seafood including: a dozen Coffin Bay oysters (shared between us), a whole lobster with mornay sauce, and linguine with bugs and prawns.

Had a great time just dining for a quiet lunch on my own, overlooking the marina. The Kilpatrick oysters were fantastic. Garlic bread is always good. Had the seafood basket, which was cooked perfectly and I loved the couple of seared scallops. Had the dessert of the day, which was Creme Brule at the time and I had an overwhelming urge to pickup the bowl and lick it clean. My waitress (may have been Matilda?) was very well spoken, bubbly, polite and beautiful, which just made me want to stay all day.

Fresh oysters, most food is directly from the trawlers you see on the background. I’d recommend making a booking for peak times (inc lunch on weekends). Ask for a table near the water - it’s a nice view. The weekend musicians are quite talented and not the usual obnoxious loud variety. The food is wonderful, moderately priced. The hot and cold seafood platter for 2 is moderately priced but fresh with enough for 3. There’s some great wines - I’d recommend the French Blanc de Blanc to go with the oysters. The staff are very fast in service. Overall I’d recommend the venue and worth a drive. We had an teppanyaki session last night. We ordered the set course for $49.50 so we got the basics plus chicken and barramundi. It was all delicious and chef Kugi was very entertaining to watch. The rest of the restaurant was pretty much empty, which may be normal as it was a weeknight. Had the battered option, fish was fresh and decent size. Lunch including drink under $15.00 , so not too bad price wise.

The highlight of my visit to Manly Boathouse was without a doubt the amazing service and the miso scallops—perfectly cooked and bursting with beautiful flavour. Honestly, I could eat those all day! The cocktails were exceptional and the whole place had a gorgeous, relaxing atmosphere that made for a memorable experience. The only downside was the main dish of pork; while it was cooked well, unfortunately the cut of meat given to us was much too fatty, which let down an otherwise wonderful meal. What's not to love here. Breakfast, check! They offer breakfast, as well as a delicious selection of fresh baked pastries and barista coffee. Take away fish and chips, check! I didn't try the take away, but that just gives me a reason to come back. And the final check, a more sophisticated dining experience for lunch and dinner at the restaurant with beautiful views over the marina. We were lucky to be served by the amazing Ella, who suggested the Goldband Snapper, which was super fresh and delicious. The prawn toast entree was crispy and carefully curated, while the chilli chips were so nice literally everyone had a bowl on their table. Oh my goodness, The Manly Boathouse! It was time to trade my fancy-dinner-self (from a previous lovely evening) for my I-just-need-a-caffeine-fix-self. The hype for their cafe was calling my name like a seagull to an unattended chip.
The location? Absolutely gorgeous! It’s like the ocean itself decided to plop a fabulous cafe right on its doorstep. They've got a wonderful, open-plan seating situation, perfect for soaking up the coastal vibes. And what's this? A live musician serenading us! I'm pretty sure I saw a dolphin tap its foot.
Now for the crucial moment: the coffee. I asked for a proper mug, ready for a sophisticated sip, but received my brew in a takeaway cup. A little part of me died, but like a true Australian, just kidding I’m American, I shrugged it off and kept my good spirits (the sea air helps with that). Let's be honest, the coffee itself isn't going to win any "Best Brew to Sail the Seven Seas For" awards, but that's okay!
The real star here is the vibe and, frankly, the wind. You will absolutely, positively, get the salty ocean wind whipping through your hair like a tiny, enthusiastic, non-stop hairdresser. If you cherish your perfectly styled locks, you have been warned! It’s an absolute ripper out there. If you want to leave with the same hair you came with, I strongly recommend a strategic indoor table reservation.
In summary: Come for the stunning location, the lively atmosphere, and a little light wind-based mischief. Stay for a solid, if not spectacular, cup of coffee. My friend and I each got a drink and the mango mule had mango puree, ginger beer and notes of lime, it was sour and not too sweet.
We got some oyster and it was fresh and salty with briny creamy texture The roasted chicken was cooked in a fragrant, spiced coconut broth. It was very flavourful and the chicken was very tender.

Started the evening with a glass of Prosecco — the perfect way to begin. The oysters were incredibly fresh, the prawn toast was crispy yet fluffy, and the vongole pasta was full of clams and bursting with flavour. Firstly, I'm vegan and my partner isn't.
Upon arrival, we were given our menus and explained to that the meals could either be shared or ordered as individual starter and mains - we said we would like separate starters and mains as I am vegan.
My partners starter came out first and we waited for mine to be not far behind.. 10+ minutes later I was given mine and we ate together - thankfully they were cold dishes.
Then mains, this time mine arrived first, after nearly 15 minutes I asked where my partners main was to which the waitress said they had been staggering our meals as that's what they do. This is obviously not correct as we advised we wouldn't be sharing and wanted our individual meals at the start of ordering, and because 2 other tables were getting all their food at the same time.
The waitress then took my once hot now room temp main back and bought out both mains together with mine now a fresh hot meal.
(Both starter and main the staff clearly could see we weren't eating with until the other received there main, but continued to look not busy and ignore us instead of asking if everything was ok, yet we could see them watching us).
Now with both mains, that's when we noticed not all of our sides were on the table, now 20+ minutes since the main was first served, I asked for the sides, they checked the order and apologised, 5 minutes later the fries ($14) arrived.
We hadn't finished yet but I exused myself from the table, when I got back they had taken my plates and cutlery away while my partner was still eating, he said yes to this but thought they'd at least leave the cutlery as he told them I was still eating the sides. Nope, gone. Had to ask for more cutlery.
Once dinner was finish and table was cleared we were waiting for a dessert menu, nope, after 10 minutes I had to ask for a dessert menu.
Quality of food, I personally loved the beetroot entre and cauliflower curry, absolutely delicious, i could have ordered more cauliflower!! The fact that it is just heroing 1 vegetable each meal with no plant protein means you WILL be hungry when you leave. The serving size looks ok but it's not filling at all.
My partner ordered the crab in shells, unfortunately there was no taste of seafood or crab at all, more like soft coleslaw, considering its $30+ for basically 2 spoon fulls....
He also ordered a main but they came back out to advise they had run out of that main and couldn't substitute the protein, so he settled for something else that was just ok.
Desserts were nice, I was impressed they used aquafabba for meringues but it lacked flavour. The mandarin chocolate was delicious though.
Presentation was nice.
For a $250 meal for 2 people with a lot of hit and misses, I'd expect for hits, but this visit left A LOT to be desired.

Now I'm going to preface this with we went here on New Years Eve with a set menu priced at $165 each. The staff were amazing and the hostess at the front desk went above and beyond. She made our night with her attentiveness and help getting not only a last minute table but finding the last bottle of wine we requested. Personne is in the W Hotel precinct and is really beautiful. Unfortunately (not under their control) there is a lot of roadworks and construction right outside their balcony which would be quite noisy during lunch hour. The set menu was plentiful and spaced appropriately to allow you to enjoy your food without being rushed. The food for us was OK. The salmon was bland and needed more citrus, the Arancini was good as were the meatballs but they were a little dry if you didn't smother in the sauce. Mains were rib eye, gnocchi and fries. The rib eye was good, fries weren't necessary and the gnocchi was actually really flavoursome. My husband is Italian and we have tiramisu regularly so I wasn't a fan on this version. Again it was a large portion but not my taste.

Came here for a work lunch as an out of towner. Awesome venue, very fancy vibes and decor. Appreciated the layout and the general acoustics of the room as it dampened the sound well and having conversations around the table was very easy.
The food was delicious. We had an assortment of entrees and for the main I got the pork and beef ragu which was wonderful. Generous portion of protein and overall serving size with beautiful flavours. Solid wine list too. We paired an Italian wine with lunch and it was a great drop. Service was friendly and catered to us well. Meal delivery times was well spaced and gave a good amount of time between appetisers and mains.
A wonderful experience as you would expect with the venue and price tag but well worth it of course. Absolutely first-class food (every dish was amazing) but equally as importantly, they have wonderful staff and service. We didn't notice that the kids menu was for "pasta bolognaise" and assumed it was spaghetti bolognaise. We went here for my Dad's birthday and made a reservation. Under the reservations, there is an option to pick a 'special occasion', and when we arrived, the staff greeted him with a happy birthday. We ordered:

- Pizza Bianca;
- Seared Wagyu Carpaccio;

- Rigatoni Amatriciana;
- 500gm Fiorentina;

All the above foods were shared between 4 people.

Average at best.
The view is fantastic and the service was friendly, though a little on the slow side (even though the restaurant was largely empty for a Saturday night). Unfortunately, the food just didn’t live up to the setting.
We started with the meatballs, which were very bland and in need of seasoning — they tasted as though they’d been boiled and topped with tomato purée rather than a rich sauce.
The ragu also lacked flavour. While the portion of meat was generous, the dish overall was quite plain.
The prosciutto pizza was okay

Fantastic dining experience. We lived in Maryland in the US so we love crabs and hadn't found a great crab house since moving to Australia.
We got the crab boil & loved the variety of different crabs, & our girls had the best time breaking up the crab!

Maybe it's because we went at lunch time, but the food was not great. It all tasted recooked and over heated. We were the only ones there so everything came out at a descent pace and our waiter was very kind and attentive, but the food was a big let down and the atmosphere was a bit confusing.
There was soft elegant music playing, but graffiti on the walls and butcher paper on the tables. We felt like we needed to whisper when we talked as opposed to being hyped up and making a mess while wearing our bibs and gloves. The crab cakes tasted reheated and looked a but burnt, the soda water on my cocktail was flat and the boil up was underseasoned, over cooked and didn't have enough sauce. Don't trust Google Maps Street View as St James Crabhouse is not located on the corner facing the main street.
Entering Harbour Rd from Kingsford Smith Drive, turn left at the first driveway and park anywhere in that area (max 2 hour on site parking). St James Crabhouse is a short 20m stroll from that entry point.
Walking up to St James Crabhouse you'll see the writing on the wall and a neon red crab greeting you from the window.
Upon entering St James Crabhouse you are greeted and seated at a white paper sheeted tabletop with cutlery and one napkin provided per patron at your table.
The indoor temperature of the establishment was super cool... cold... to the point you probably need to eat and drink more to warm yourself up.
Ordering is easy and your drink of choice swiftly arrives to you at your table - you can also approach the bar for more.
After ordering you are supplied with one pair of gloves and one bib for the work ahead (obviously for the crabs as it's a crabhouse!).
Food is... nice, the food missed my mark as I actively needed to drench the crab/prawn/bug meat in the sauce to attain the level of flavour I expect. Different to somewhere like 'Hot and Juicy Crawfish' where the flavours are seriously infused into the food. Serving sizes are as expected but for big eaters (me) I recommend ordering more.
Service was good, time was given for orders to be decided and space allowed when dishes arrived. Considering the price of seafood it would have been nice to have at least been provided some table salt and pepper at minimum.
Be aware this is purely byo. They don't even provide paper plates. Also you may want to byo salad and sides as pure seafood only provided. They also didn't have ice and said they were going to retrieve it though it was never provided.

We had an absolutely fantastic experience at The Prawnster on the Brisbane River! My wife and I ordered the lobster platter and a dozen fresh oysters, and both were nothing short of spectacular. Tonight me and my partner wanted to try something abit more high end but in our area,
Shucks bar has not let us down with a beautiful chefs menu priced only at $65 a head!! Fresh sourdough with cultured butter and smoked sea salt worked so well and kept us curious on what was to come for the rest of the night.

Impeccable service by the team from booking to billing.
I had mentioned on the phone whilst making the reservation that we are celebrating a birthday. The team gave us a table with an amazing river view and even had a handwritten note . They also gave us a small dessert with a sparkler.

Spring lunch at Tillerman. Pros- Beautiful establishment. Views are amazing. The $65 per person lunch experience was more than ample. Staff are friendly and knowledgeable. The food was impeccable 🙌 . Minor cons- my seat was full of crumbs from the last sitting. We visited this restaurant for an early evening dinner. We sat on the terrace overlooking the Brisbane river. All dishes are brought with the expectation that they will be shared. We started with burrata in truffle infused honey which came served with a crisp bread. Our main courses were swordfish steak and lamb cutlets which were accompanied by a side salad and potato scallops. Everything was absolutely delicious and couldn’t really be improved. We washed it down with glasses of a local wine which was also excellent. Thoroughly enjoyable meal with a wonderful view and top service.
We came to the restaurant at around 2:30pm and the lady at the reception kindly asked us to wait a moment while she checked if the kitchen was still open - luckily we made it just in time.
Everything from the starters, the mains to the dessert was delicious. The charcoal-grilled octopus was tender and a little heat. The chilli tiger prawn linguine came with 5 massive prawns. The full-blooded wagyu was cooked to the perfect temperature and full of flavour.

This is a gem of a restaurant in the waterfront in Brisbane. Indoor and outdoor ( with heaters) available and table spaces are wide and chairs deep and comfortable.
The staff were very friendly and helpful with our menu choices, even advising us that one of the dishes with do the 2 of us, which we naturally chose, and was not disappointed.
The manager was very chatty and knowledgeable about the wines and was happy to offer a taster.

An absolutely wonderful stay from start to finish. A warm, friendly welcome from Jemma on arrival with professional and engaging check-in. It was my first time to the hotel and I was made to feel so welcome, with details on restaurant and gym times and location shared.
My room was fabulous and overlooked the beautiful Brisbane River and Story Bridge. I was surprised at the size of the room, that it had a large long lounge chair PLUS both bath and shower.
The bed was super comfortable and I had such a great night's sleep - and the airconditioning kept me cool from the humid Brisbane weather.
I met on duty manager, Alex, during my stay and he was professional and attentive.

First and foremost, a big shoutout to Oliver – our server for the night. He was absolutely fantastic! Friendly, attentive, and made sure we were well looked after. When we weren’t ready to order, he let us take our time and came back as promised. Once we were ready, he confidently took our full order and ensured everything was correct. A talented young guy with a great attitude and plenty of potential in hospitality!
As for drinks, I was a bit particular with my choices – unfortunately, they didn’t have Pepsi Max or the other soft drinks I was after. I settled on Fanta, but Oliver came back with a laugh to let me know that was also unavailable. I appreciated the honesty and sense of humour! I told him to surprise me with something he thought I’d like, and he absolutely nailed it. Really appreciated the personal touch.
Now onto the food – this is where the experience dropped off a little.
The meals came out surprisingly quick for a group of 15 – around 10–15 minutes, which was impressive.
• Gravy: Tasted great, but a bit thin in consistency. A thicker style would really elevate it.
• Chicken Schnitzel Parmy: 5/10 – Generous portion size, and the chips were excellent (a different seasoning could make them amazing). Unfortunately, the parmy itself was overcooked and the sauce was quite dry. For the price, we’ve had better elsewhere.
• Shepherd’s Pie (my meal): I appreciate their own spin on it, but it didn’t hit the mark for me. It tasted closer to microwave-style food than a freshly prepared dish. The mash on top was lumpy, the meat portion underneath was small, and the flavour was underwhelming overall. The mash served on the side also didn’t quite deliver. However, again – the chips stood out as a highlight.
Overall, the service and staff were excellent, and that really helped carry the night. The food quality was mixed across our group, and while some enjoyed their meals, others had similar feedback. It’s clear the team has potential, and with some consistency in the kitchen, this place could be great.

Honestly, I wasn’t expecting much when I came to Enjoy Inn because every other Chinese restaurant I’ve tried in Brisbane has been a disappointment. But this place completely changed my mind. Came to this restaurant and ordered the salted fish fried rice and stir-fried beef ho fun. Both dishes were a mess. The rice wasn’t even broken up after frying, and the ho fun was clumped together. As a result, the seasoning was totally uneven — one bite was salty, the next was just plain rice or plain noodles with zero flavor.
Here’s some basic prep advice: cook the rice a day ahead, fluff it while chilling. As for the ho fun, separate it properly before tossing it in the wok — don’t just dump it in. The kitchen looks like it’s run by old-timers, so it’s shocking that such basic techniques were ignored.
Really disappointing coming from a place that’s been around since 1983.

Had a really fantastic meal last night at Enjoy Inn. Old school Australian Cantonese done exceptionally well. The service is first rate in terms of attentiveness and friendliness without being overbearing. The dim sims were meaty with a good flavour and delicate outer skin. We were recommended this restaurant by our Airbnb host, who lived in New Farm, and it turned out to be an excellent suggestion! The food spread was impressive. We ordered the surf and turf, the scallops, and the fried dory. Every dish was fresh, well-prepared, and beautifully presented. I was about to give up and head home after a long day outside when I spotted New Farm Seafood and remembered I wanted to try their chowder. Hoping it wouldn't make my allergies worse, Unfortunately the chowder had fish and I wasn't sure whether that would be a problem. One of the chef's specials was Moreton Bay Bug tacos and the 1st meal and bug I ever had in Brisbane was here and it was excellent. This dish had Pico Peppers and when the dish came to the table it was gorgeous. I took a bite as prepared but due to the flour shells only ate the Bugs and garnish. Loved the Pico peppers, they were tangy with a small bite. I’ve been to all the black hide locations including the recently closed down treasury location and this new setting is by far the best.
It seems as if black hide have rebranded and they are far more refined now with the branding, menu and location. The food is and has always been top class.
We had some drinks that were amazing, the scallops were delish with the crispiness of the pangratto. The focaccia was good however, was not the best I’ve had - I did enjoy this by making a sandwich out of it though with the steak.
The beef tartare was amazing and I did not take a picture prior to the mixing hence the unappetising picture but, it was divine. We also got some corn and some French fries with chipotle aioli.
The steak I chose was a Wagyu rib eye cooked medium rare which was cooked exceptionally well and melted in my mouth. I had this with some chimichurri and would also recommend trying the jalapeno sauce they offer. I did also try the mushroom sauce as my partner got a Wagyu eye fillet and I definitely preferred the rib eye to the eye fillet.
We also got a chocolate fondant which was delicious. The majority of our food was delicious. I’ve never ordered a steak with Mable score 5+ so then I ordered the eye fillet 5+ I was really anticipating an extraordinary steak. I was disappointed when it came out over cooked. While it still tasted nice I felt like I had missed the experience which my anticipation set me up for. As I said all the other meals were delicious. This was our first visit to Black Hide’s new location after several meals at the old Treasury Casino.
The internal deco is bright and modern with amazing views. The staff is friendly and eager to help both with the menu and wine suggestions.
All the dishes were wonderful but undoubtedly the star of the show was the steaks. We had the wagyu sirloin, rib eye and rump cap - all grilled to the perfect temperature and each had its own flavour profile. The sirloin was the table’s favourite.

The food is as top tier as you'd expect. Oysters that my wife loves, steak cooked fantastically, mashed potatoes that were creamy and amazing and a very generous portion size for a bowl of chips that were seasoned beautifully.
Standard high prices for a nice steak place but nothing out of the ordinary.
I like how the menus have a diagram of the cuts of steak and the drinks menu tells you the country it's from.

I ordered a grilled snapper and a small chips. Both were smothered in cheap oil, the chips were covered in salt (i asked for less salt) and my fish was not worth the $10.90 i paid. As a local, the food, prices and servings used to be much better before the current owners came along.
I brought my food back, asking for a refund and they simply told me “we understand, but have to disagree” and refused to give me refund. I personally think if you cant give an upset customer a refund or some sort of compensation for your next visit, you are just insincere.
